Merrick Gallagher

Born and raised in Washington State, Merrick Gallagher grew up immersed in the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant cycling culture. While he explored various sports throughout his youth, cycling ultimately captured his heart and imagination. At twelve, he began his journey in track cycling with the Jerry Baker Junior cycling team under the program direction of Amara Edwards. His natural talent and dedication quickly propelled him through the ranks, establishing him as an elite competitor who has claimed numerous podium finishes at the highest levels of the sport.

At 18, Merrick has distinguished himself with 13 national championship titles and two American records in the U19 category—the team pursuit and individual pursuit. His achievements have established him as a formidable presence on the world stage competing for Team USA. His international portfolio includes appearances at the UCI World Championships in Luoyang, China (August 2024), the Next Gen competition in Apeldoorn, Netherlands (January 2025), and a return to the UCI World Championships in Apeldoorn (August 2025), demonstrating his consistent standing among cycling’s elite ranks.

Merrick currently trains under US coaches Anders Johnson and Jono Hailstone as he continues to refine his abilities and fuel his competitive spirit.

For the 2026 season, Merrick will be riding with WLR, marking an exciting new chapter in his cycling career.
